The United Nations Takes a Strong Stance on Human Rights

On November 10, the UN Department of Public Information released the above report by the UN Special Reporter on the Situation of Human Rights in Afghanistan. On the 21st of November, the U.S. Representative Bill Richardson made a strong statement in support of Human Rights. He said, "We must remain resolute against those voices that suggest that the Universal Declaration represents the Values of only a portion of humanity…Human Rights know no geographic or ethnic boundaries.. They apply universally -- to all peoples, whatever their economic, social, ethnic or cultural origins."
